Coton de Tuléar

Described as a happy-go-lucky, bright companion, the Coton is a non-sporting grouped dog, originating in Madagascar. Known for its cotton-like coat the Coton de Tuléar (pronounced: Cotawn day Two-lee-air) is a hair dog (in contrast to fur), having a prominent black nose, large expressive eyes, and somewhat short legs. It is a non-shedding breed, having very low allergic effects and is considered hypoallergenic. With little “doggie smell” when properly bathed and groomed, Coton’s come in white, white and black, and tri-color, and often lighten as they leave the puppy stage.
